I must be grateful
"Dad, will you push me again. Dad, will you push me again. HaaaHaaaHaa" Travis is home for lunch, and TJ's voice rings outside my window. I sit in my room, with my computer on my lap, Arra is finally taking a nap. I feel exausted, the kids have been sick, there is a show my husband must get up. I can't sleep at night with the sound of coughing in the room next door. The laundry is piled miles high and if I walk out of Arra's sight, there is a wail as though the world has fallen apart. There are bills to be paid, I need to take a shower. The free babysitting at University Church for Valentines day (I thought) was for the Saturday before, and I didn't realize it. Some nights I simply cry out in a silent tears and pray that my children can peacefully sleep so that I can as well.
And then in a single moment, something will hit me, and I know that I wouldn't change anything for the world. Today that one thing was the faces of Kari's daughters in this blog. They don't have their mommy to dress them. Keri can't hear the wail from her baby's lips crying out for her. I must embrace everyday, the good the bad and when I hear my babies cry, when I wash the endless baskets of clothes, when I feel there is nothing more of me that I can give, I must thank God. I must be filled with gratitude that I have been given one more day to experience this mysterious journey called life.
You all are my family, I thank God for you. I just needed to share.
